i moved from denver to estes two days ago. i live at the end of a one-mile dirt road, so to get any sort of “provisions” - i.e. wine and food - i need to walk. this is good not only for me, but for boo; mama needs to drop some ell bees and boo needs exercise for her sweet little heart. i took this picture on the way home today because i am continually astonished by the beauty here. i’ve been posting tons of pics, to the annoyance of many. but screw them. this place is amazing.

i’m so used to seeing giant elk around, i was actually surprised to see a sweet little deer. i decided that this guy looks like boo. or vice versa.

i think both of us need to get used to the altitude here… miss boo was pretty wiped after four miles. four miles less the half mile i carried her because she was panting so much that she freaked me out. she gets a break for a couple of days. poor baby. at least she won’t wake me up in the middle of the night to go out. #ihope

Looks like the elk come down for lunch, right at 12:00. This guy is about eight feet from me, enjoying one of the bushes off my porch. Crazy!
